Frustrated Single Parents & Childcare

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with and helping a gentleman who was frustrated in his search to find a nanny or sitter. Now, his dilemma is that of many a single parent out there who has to share custody of their children with the other parent. Situations like his constitutes a part-time shifting schedule from week to week and having to find childcare coverage at various times throughout the day ( picking up and dropping off at school and staying with children until parent arrives). Traditional childcare arrangements are out of the question because daycare centers generally are not capable of dropping children off at other locations and lots of full-time and part-time nannies and sitters want a set schedule. My advice to him and to other single parents that find themselves in similar predicaments should find 2-3 nannies or sitters who are looking for very part-time, occasional positions who have flexible schedules ( nannies who are moms, military spouses, local college students) and rotate them throughout the month. This will ensure that you have coverage at the days and times you need them. Having a membership with A Nanny Network will consistently give you more nanny and sitter candidates to choose from on an “as-needed” basis. And you can rest easy and know that we continually expire Nanny and Sitter Profiles at 90 days to ensure the most current and active applicants are available to our families. We are here to help!
